시민적 우정이라는 주제는 고전적 공화주의에서 활발하게 논의되었던 것에 비해 현대의 공화주의에서는 대체로 무시되어져 왔다. 최근에 시민적 우정을 부활시키려는 시도는 고전적 공화주의자인 아리스토텔레스를 기초로 하기 때문에 우리는 마치 고전적 공화주의와 현대 공화주의 사이에서 어느 하나를 택일해야 하는 문제처럼 비춰진다. 이러한 문제의식에 따라 본 연구는 시민적 우정을 부활시킴에 있어 제3의 관점인 니체의 관점에 주목하면서, 고전적 공화주의와 현대의 공화주의로 분리하는 이분법에 빠지지 않으면서도 신아리스토텔레스주의와는 다른 방법으로 시민적 우정과 공동체를 연결하는 방안을 모색하고자 한다. 니체의 다원주의적 방법론은 신아리스토텔레스주의적 방법론이 가진 거부감을 크게 완화할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. 본 연구는 우정에 관한 니체의 접근방법이 개인적 요소를 강조하는 현대 윤리학을 감안할 때 큰 거부감 없이 윤리와 시민적 우정을 재연결하는 유력한 방법이 될 수 있다고 주장하는 바이다.
Abstract
While the topic of civic friendship was actively discussed in classical republicanism, it has been largely ignored in modern republicanism. Since recent attempts to revive civic friendship are based on the classical republican Aristotle, we are seen as a matter of choosing between classical republicanism and modern republicanism. Based on this awareness of the problem, this study pays attention to Nietzsche's point of view, which is the third point of view in reviving civic friendship, and is different from neo-Aristotelianism without falling into the dichotomy of classical republicanism and modern republicanism. We intend to explore ways to connect civic friendship and community. It is expected that Nietzsche's pluralistic methodology can greatly alleviate the objection to the neo-Aristotelian methodology. This study argues that Nietzsche's approach to friendship can be a powerful way to reconnect ethics and civic friendship without much objection given the modern ethics that emphasizes the individual element.
