비대면 온라인 수업 효과에 영향을 미치는 온라인 수업 구성요소: 대학교 이론 수업 수강생을 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 비대면 온라인 수업에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 온라인 수업의 구성요소으로 나누어 각 변인들의 영향력을 규명하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 2020년 2학기 비대면 온라인 이론 수업을 수강한 국내 K 대학교 학생 507명이었으며, 수집된 자료는 다중회귀분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 분석하였다. 연구 결과 첫째, 교수자 수업 운영 변인과 학생참여 변인은 모두 비대면 온라인 수업 효과성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 기술 및 환경 변인의 경우 ‘시스템 안정성’, ‘사용 편의성’을 제외한 변인들이 비대면 온라인 수업 효과성에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 온라인 수업의 구성요소 변인들의 비대면 온라인 수업 효과성에 대한 설명력은 총 54.2%인 것으로 나타났으며, 교수자 수업 운영 변인 중 ‘상호소통 원활(β=0.260)’, 기술 및 환경 변인 중 ‘동영상 품질 적합성(β=0.215)’, 학생 참여 변인 중 ‘학습충실도(β=0.166)’ 순으로 영향력이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 효과적인 온라인 수업에 영향을 미치는 변인들을 탐색하고 각 변인간의 상대적인 영향력을 밝힌 의의가 있으며, 본 연구 결과는 향후 비대면 온라인 수업 설계의 방향성을 결정하는 데에 있어 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to examine the influence of each variables related to the effectiveness of online learning. The participants of this study were 507 students at K University in Korea, who took online theory classes in the second semester of 2020. Multiple linear regression analyses and hierarchical multiple linear regression analyses were conducted to verify the effect of different variables. The findings of the study are as follows. First, all the instructor’s management and student’s participation variables have positive effects on the effectiveness of online learning. With the exception of system stability and ease of use, sub-factors of technology and environment significantly predicted the effectiveness of online learning. Second, technology and environment, instructor, and student variables accounted for 54.2% of the variance in the effectiveness of non-face-to-face learning. The most influential variables were “mutual communication smoothness”(β=0.260) among the instructor variables, “video quality suitability”(β=0.215) among the technical and environmental variables, and “learning faithfulness” (β=0.166) among the learner student variables. This study is significant because it explore variables influencing effective online classes and reveal the relative influence of each variable, and the results of this study can be used as basic data in determining the future direction of online class design.
