본 연구에서는 부모의 자연에 대한 태도와 유아의 정서지능, 자연 유대감의 관계를 살펴보고, 부모의 자연에 대한 태도가 유아의 정서지능에 미치는 영향에서 유아 자연 유대감의 매개효과를 살펴보았다. 연구의 대상은 전국에 거주하는 만 3~5세 유아 자녀를 둔 어머니와 아버지 135쌍이다. 수집된 데이터는 SPSS 28.0을 사용하여 기술통계분석, Pearson의 적률상관분석을 실시하고, PROCESS Macro Model 4를 활용하여 매개효과를 분석하고 통계적 유의성을 검증하기 위해 부트스트래핑을 실시하였다. 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모의 자연에 대한 태도와 유아의 자연 유대감, 정서지능은 모두 평균보다 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 부모의 자연에 대한 태도가 긍정적일수록 유아의 자연 유대감과 정서지능이 더 높아졌고, 유아의 자연 유대감이 높아질수록 유아의 정서지능이 더 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 변인 간 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 부모의 자연에 대한 태도는 유아의 자연 유대감을 부분 매개로 하여 유아의 정서지능에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로, 부모의 자연에 대한 긍정적인 태도는 유아의 자연 유대감을 증진하여 유아의 정서지능 발달에 기여할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of children’s connectedness to nature on the relationship between parental attitudes toward nature and children’s emotional intelligence. The participants consisted of 135 pairs of mothers and fathers with children aged 3 to 5 from across South Korea. Data were analyzed using SPSS 28.0, and the main findings are as follows. The more positive the parental attitude toward nature, the higher were the levels of both children’s connectedness to nature and emotional intelligence. Furthermore, the mediation analysis revealed that parental attitude toward nature had a positive effect on children’s emotional intelligence, partially mediated by children’s connectedness to nature. In conclusion, parents’ positive attitude toward nature can enhance children’s connectedness to nature, thereby contributing to the development of their emotional intelligence.
