본 연구의 목적은 유아교사의 배경 변인에 따른 탄소중립교육에 관한 경험과 인식을 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구는 2025년 1월 6일부터 2월 28일까지 8주 동안 전라남도의 유치원과 어린이집에 근무하는 유아교사 454명을 대상으로 설문 조사를 시행하였다. 자료는 빈도분석과 기술통계분석, 카이제곱 검정으로 분석되었다. 연구 결과, 탄소중립 관련 강좌 수강 경험, 유아 탄소중립교육의 교육목표와 내용, 방법 등 탄소중립교육에 관한 경험과 인식에서 유아교사의 배경 변인에 따른 유의한 차이가 나타났다. 즉, 교사의 나이, 경력, 학력, 근무 기관 유형, 담당 유아 나이에 따라 탄소중립교육에 대한 유아교사의 경험과 인식에서 유의한 차이가 있었다. 따라서 유아 탄소중립교육이 활성화하려면 각 교사의 여건에 맞는 다양한 교사교육 프로그램이 체계적으로 시행되는 것이 필요하다. 이처럼 본 연구는 유아교사의 배경 변인에 따른 탄소중립교육에 관한 경험과 인식을 살펴봄으로써 유아 탄소중립교육을 위한 교사교육 프로그램 개발의 기초자료를 제공하는 데 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the experience and perception of carbon neutrality education according to the background variables of early childhood teachers. A survey was conducted with 454 early childhood teachers working at kindergartens and daycare centers in Jeollanam-do for 8 weeks from January 6 to February 28, 2025. Data were analyzed by frequency and descriptive statistics analyses, and chi-square test. The results are as follows. There were significant differences according to the background variables of early childhood teachers in the experience and perception of carbon neutrality education, such as the experience of taking courses related to carbon neutrality and the educational goals, contents, and methods of carbon neutrality education for young children. That is to say, there were significant differences in early childhood teachers’ experience and perception of carbon neutrality education according to teachers’ age, career, educational background, type of working institution, and young children’s age in charge. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically implement various teacher education programs tailored to each teacher’s conditions in order to activate carbon neutrality education for young children. This study is meaningful in providing basic data for the development of teacher education programs for early childhood carbon neutrality education by examining the experience and perception of carbon neutrality education according to the background variables of early childhood teachers.
