본 연구는 국내 IB(International Baccalaureate) 교육 관련 연구동향을 체계적으로 분석하여 주요 논의 흐름을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2006년부터 2025년 2월까지 발표된 국내 학술논문 184편을 대상으로 주제어 분석과 LDA 토픽모델링 기법을 활용한 텍스트마이닝 분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, IB 교육 연구는 2018년 이후 급격히 증가하여 2024년에 최다 연구가 발표되는 등 연구 관심이 꾸준히 확대되고 있었다. LDA 토픽모델링 분석 결과, ‘IB 평가 체제와 국내 교육에의 시사점’, ‘학습자 중심 수업 설계 방안’, ‘IB PYP의 특징과 국내 적용 가능성’, ‘국내 고등학교 IB DP 도입 논의’, ‘IB 교육과정 분석을 통한 국내 교육과정 발전 방안 탐색’, ‘IB 교육 운영에서 교사의 역할’, ‘개념기반 수업 설계와 실천’의 7가지 주요 연구 토픽이 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 국내 IB 교육 연구의 흐름과 주요 주제를 종합적으로 조망하고, 향후 연구 방향뿐만 아니라 정책 수립과 교육적 실행 기반 마련에 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있도록 시사점과 제언을 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study aims to systematically analyze the research trends related to International Baccalaureate (IB) education in Korea and identify the main discussion flow. To this end, we conducted text mining analysis using keyword analysis and LDA topic modeling techniques on 184 academic articles published from 2006 to February 2025. The analysis showed that the research interest in IB education has been steadily expanding, with a sharp increase since 2018 and the largest number of studies published in 2024. As a result of the LDA topic modeling analysis, seven major research topics were identified: ‘IB assessment system and its implications for domestic education’, ‘Learner-centered lesson design’, ‘Characteristics of IB PYP and its applicability in Korea’, ‘Discussion on the introduction of IB DP in Korean high schools’, ‘Exploring ways to develop curriculum in Korea through IB curriculum analysis’, ‘Role of teachers in IB education operation’, and ‘Concept-based lesson design and practice’. Based on these results, this study comprehensively examines the current trends and major themes of IB education research in Korea, and provides implications and suggestions for future research directions as well as foundational resources for policy formulation and educational practice.
