이 연구의 목적은 현대 사회에 만연한 혐오 문제를 해결하기 위해 사회적 공감 역량을 신장하는 토론 교육의 가능성을 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사회적공감 이론을 기반으로 맥락적 이해와 거시적 관점 수용과 관련된 학습 경험을설계하였다. 타 집단에 대해 단편적인 정보를 제공하는 접근보다 교육토론을 통해 적극적으로 타 집단의 상황을 이해하고 직접 반대편에서 옹호하는 경험을 제공하도록 정책 토론을 시행하였다. 또한 문제의 다면성을 직시하고 실제적인 해결 방안을 모색하도록 월드카페 토론을 시행하였다. 연구 결과 타 집단에 대한맥락적 이해가 증가하였다. 또한 타 집단의 관점을 수용하게 되었다는 다양한진술을 통해 교육적 효과를 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the potential of debate education in enhancing social empathy competence as a means to address the pervasive issue of hatred in modern society. To this end, learning experiences were designed based on the theory of social empathy, focusing on contextual understanding and macro perspective-taking. A policy debate was conducted to actively understand the situation of other groups and provide an experience of advocating directly from the other side through debate rather than an approach that provides fragmentary information about other groups. In addition, a worldcafe was conducted to face the multifacetedness of the problem and to find practical solutions. The results of the study showed an increase in the contextual understanding of other groups. Furthermore, various statements indicated that participants had begun to accept the perspectives of other groups, confirming the educational effectiveness.
