Abstract

This study analyzes factors influencing high school students' reading volume and attitudes using data from the Korean Education Longitudinal Study released on July 7, 2023. It specifically explores the impact of media usage time and mobile phone dependency on reading attitudes. The utilization of national-level panel data facilitates the generalization of the quantitative analysis and offers opportunities for comparative and meta-analysis in future studies. Statistical analysis of the panel data, employing multiple regression and multilevel models, aims to estimate the relationships between key explanatory variables, reading volume, and reading attitudes, with distinctions made by gender and region.
