바칼로레아 ‘문학 논술’ 방법론을 활용한 논리적 글쓰기 교육

프랑스의 대학입학 자격시험인 바칼로레아의 ‘논술’은 제시문 중심의 ‘논평’ 과 달리 문학의 논제가 출제되는 가장 난이도가 높은 시험이다. 이 시험에서 좋은 평가를 받기 위해서는 문학의 제문제에 대한 개인적 성찰을 논리적으로 전개해야 하며 그 과정에서 문학 텍스트를 이른바 배경지식으로 활용하여 논거로써제시해야 한다. ‘문학논술’은 ‘읽기’와 ‘쓰기’가 결합된 시험이며, 작품 읽기와비평적 이해, 논리적이고 체계적인 글쓰기 능력을 동시에 필요로 한다. 이 연구에서는 바칼로레아 ‘논술’의 기본 개념을 제시하고 문학 텍스트를 통해 작품을분석하는 사례를 보여주었다. 궁극적으로는 바칼로레아 ‘논술’이 우리의 대학글쓰기 교육의 문제점을 개선하고 발전시키는 데 기여할 수 있는 방안을 찾으려했다. 결국 ‘문학논술’이 대학의 글쓰기 교육에 효과적으로 적용되기 위해서는제시문이 아닌 원전 중심의 ‘읽기’와 최소한의 문학교육이 필요하고, 그것이 글쓰기 방법론에 기반한 ‘쓰기’로 이어져야 할 것이다.
Abstract
The ‘Essay(dissertation)’ of the Baccalauréat, France’s college entrance qualification exam, is the most difficult exam in which questions on literary topics are asked, unlike the ‘commentaire composé’ which focuses on presentations. In order to receive a good evaluation in this test, you must logically develop personal reflection on literary issues, and in the process, use literary texts as so-called background knowledge and present them as arguments. ‘Literary Essay’ is a test that combines ‘reading’ and ‘writing’, and requires reading and critical understanding of the work, as well as logical and systematic writing skills. This study presented the basic concepts of baccalauréat ‘essay’ and showed examples of analyzing works through literary texts. Ultimately, I tried to find ways in which baccalauréat ‘essay’ could contribute to improving and developing the problems of our university writing education. Ultimately, in order for ‘literary essays’ to be effectively applied to university writing education, ‘reading’ and minimal literature education centered on original texts rather than short essay presentation are necessary, and this should lead to ‘writing’ based on writing methodology.
