최근에 논술 교육이 교육계에 주요 화두로 부상하고 있다. 그러나 현실에 비해 학문적 이론화 작업은 매우 더딘 편이다. 본고는 문학에 대한 기존 관념을 점검하는 데서 출발하였다. 문학(학)이라는 것이 기본적으로 언어의 모든 가능성을 지니고 있을 뿐 아니라, 창조적인 언어 사용에 가장 앞서 가는 영역이라는 점을 새삼 확인할 필요가 있다. 또한 논술과 논술교육에 대한 기존 논의를 점검하고 그것을 새롭게 정립할 필요가 있다. 기존 개념은 형식 논리를 지나치게 강조한다거나, 논술을 독백이나 가치중립적인 차원에서 바라보게 되는 오해를 살 수 있다. 따라서 문학(학)이 지닌 특성과 새로운 논술관이 만나 문학 논술뿐 아니라 논술 교육에 기여할 수 있는 방향으로 나아갈 필요가 있다. 본고에서는 논술을 ‘어떤 문제에 대한 이념적 실천 행위로서의 설득적 글쓰기’라 규정하고, 문학 논술을 ‘일체의 문학 관련 문제들과 연관된 이념적 실천 행위로서의 설득적 글쓰기’로 정의하며, 문학 논술 교육이란 ‘그러한 논술 행위를 둘러싼 가르치는 자와 배우는 자 사이에서 이루어지는 상호 작용의 과정과 결과’라 규정하였다. 그리고 문학 논술 교육의 이념을 ‘문학과 관련한 일체의 문제 상황에서 새로운 설득적 의미를 생산하기 위해 반성과 대화 전략을 통해 공동체의 이념을 담아 자신의 목소리를 표상할 줄 아는 능력을 갖도록 하는 데 있음’을 밝히고, 문학 논술 교육은 그런 능력을 지닌 인간을 길러내는 일이라 정의하였다. 그리고 문학 논술 교육의 거시적 전략으로 ‘반성과 대화’를 제시하고, 이에 근거한 활동들을 ‘문학 논술 관련 텍스트 비평적 성찰하기, 문제 인식하기, 담론 구성 주체 반성하고 쓰기, 담론 상황 반성하고 쓰기, 판단 기준 반성하고 쓰기, 논증 도식 반성하고 쓰기, 주장 반성하고 쓰기, 논술 담론 간 대화성을 인식하고 쓰기, 윤리적 실천 행위 인식하고 쓰기’ 등으로 구체화하였다. 또한 기존 문학 논술 유형을 비판적으로 검토하였는데, 이른바 통합논술은 인문학의 핵심인 문학 관련 텍스트가 미미하게 다루어지거나 아예 빠져 있다는 문제점이 드러났다. 또한 방법적 차원에서 기존 논술 교육을 넘어서기 위해서는 방법을 논하기에 앞서 전제로 삼아야 할 것들이 있는 바, 그것은 논술 교육이 단순히 기술 전수나 결과 중심에서 벗어나 담론 주체, 사회문화적 맥락, 창의적이고 다양한 담론 양식, 과정과 결과의 종합 등을 고려해야 한다고 보았다. 그리고 이러한 전제와 전략, 활동 등이 문학 논술 교육의 과정에 반영되어야 함을 논술 단계에 따라 밝혔다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to suggest the educational method of literature argumentative essay. The recent important topic of education world is the education of argumentative essay. But scientific theorization about it is very late. This study starts from inspection literature concept. Literature is total accumulation of language and culture. Especially, in Creative language and culture. We need new concept about argumentative essay and the educational of argumentative essay. Old concept concentrated on formal logic, monological form, and neutrality of value. Thus, we need new paradigm. Argumentative essay in this study is persuasive writing as ideological praxis action about a certain problem. Literature argumentative essay is persuasive writing as ideological praxis action about all literature connected problem. and Education of literature argumentative essay is interactive process and the result of teaching－learning about literature argumentative essay. The aim of education of literature argumentative essay is to bring up expressive ability of self voice included community idea through reflective and dialogical strategies in literary related problems. This thesis emphasized reflection and dialogue as the macro strategies of education of literature argumentative essay. and This study suggested activities based on these strategies. This study scrutinized recent questions of literature argumentative essay in academic examination. In result, Literature was not almost included in it. It was the worst situation. In methodological dimension, this thesis stressed discourse subject, socio－cultural context, creative－various discourse type, and integration of process and result instead of simple technique dimension.
