본 연구는 고등학교『윤리와 사상』교과서에서 한국윤리 내용을 분석하여 그 문제점을 적시하고, 개선방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 『윤리와 사상』교과서에서 진술되고 있는 한국윤리 부분은 내용의 오류, 내용 구성상의 문제, 관점의 문제를 안고 있다. 윤리교육적 문제의식이 결여된 이러한 내용으로는 학습자가 자율적으로 윤리관을 정립하도록 돕는데 한계가 있다. 또한『윤리와 사상』은 윤리사상을 일상생활에 실천하려는 의지를 함양하려는 교과 목적을 설정하고 있으나, 가치의 실천적 측면을 염두에 두지 않은 이론 중심의 진술이 일반화되어 있다. 이러한 점을 통해 볼 때,『윤리와 사상』교과서는 도덕 교과의 목적을 제대로 구현하지 못하고 있다고 할 수 있다.『윤리와 사상』교과서에서 한국윤리 내용은 특히, 학생들이 한국인으로서의 정체성을 확인하고, 우리의 삶과 사상에 대한 규범적 원리를 확인강화해 나가는데 있어서 중핵적인 의미가 있다. 따라서 이 내용들을 도덕교육의 본질에 부합하도록 구성하여, 학생들이 삶의 문제와 연관시켜 한국윤리를 고민하도록 하는 ‘실천적’ 문제의식을 던져주어야 한다.
Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze Korean ethics in high school textbooks -『Ethics and Thoughts』, and point out problems as well as suggestions for improvements. 『Ethics and Thoughts』is aimed for Korean students to form a subjective view of ethics and ideological frames of thoughts as the Koreans, and is also defined as a subject to foster practicum aspects in order to connect ethical thoughts with our daily lives. However, the contents of Korean ethics stated in『Ethics and Thoughts』are merely a series of theoretical statements, rather than helping students independently confront ethical situations and problems and understand principles of ethics. Furthermore,『Ethics and Thoughts』is intended to boost students' willingness to take ethical thoughts into practice in daily lives, but the textbook is consisted of theory-based statements, ignoring practical components. In terms of these two core aspects, the textbook『Ethics and Thoughts』fails to achieve goals and aims of the textbook of ethics. Korean ethics has important meanings for students in reassuring their identities as Korean, and recognizing normative principles in our lives and thoughts. Thus, Korean ethics in the textbook should be more detailed and corresponding to the purpose of ethical education, questioning practical aspects directly related to our lives.
