Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the role of psychological contract violation as a critical determinant of service employees’ customer-oriented selling behavior. In addition, we investigated the mediating role of organizational identification in the effect of psychological contract violation on customer-oriented selling behavior of service employee. The results of analyzing 189 service employees are as follows. First, psychological contract violation significantly negative impact on customer-oriented selling behavior of service employees. Second, psychological contract violation is negatively associated with organizational identification. Finally, the relationship between psychological contract violation and customer-oriented selling behavior is mediated by organizational identification. These results mean that employees who experienced psychological contract violations are aware of the unfairness of the organization, and thus their sense of belonging to the organization decreases, which adversely affects the customer-oriented selling behavior, which is the employee's job. This study presented academic and practical implications through empirical analysis.
