Abstract
The purpose of this research is to verify the influence of psychological contract breach on turnover intention, the mediating effect of organizational commitment and the moderating effect of servant leadership. The survey was conducted on 358 currently working employees in South Korea. We revealed that psychological contract breach not only has a negative effect on organizational commitment, but also has a positive effect on turnover intention. Furthermore, it was examined that organizational commitment plays a mediating role in the relationship between psychological contract breach and turnover intention. In addition, it was examined that servant leadership moderates the relationship between psychological contract breach and organizational commitment. Our findings suggest that the psychological contract breach affects the turnover intention through mediating mechanism of organizational commitment. In addition, it is empirically identified that servant leadership moderates the association between psychological contract breach and organizational commitment by buffering the negative impacts of psychological contract breach, suggesting the importance of leadership in a rapidly changing business environment.
