외국인 학부생 대상 대학 생활에서의 한국어 친교적 기능 실현 양상 연구 - 한국인 학부생과의 비교를 중심으로

본 연구는 외국인과 한국인 학부생이 대학 생활 맥락 속에서 친교적 기능을 어떻게 실현하고 있는지 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 친교적 기능 기반의 구어 담화 완성형 테스트(DCT)를 제작하여 외국인과 한국인 학부생 각 10명의 발화를 수집하였고, 친교적 의사소통 유형과 기능 실현 양상을 분석하였다. 그 결과, 외국인과 한국인 학부생의 친교적 의사소통 유형과 기능의 실현 양상은 유사한 분포를 보였다. 다만, 한국인 학부생은 다양한 친교적 의사소통 유형과 기능을 구체적이며 적극적으로 활용하는 것과 달리 외국인 학부생은 상대적으로 제한적인 실현 양상을 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이에 본 연구는 대학 생활에서의 원활한 친교적 의사소통을 위하여 ① 학습자의 사회문화적 능력 향상을 위한 교육 방안 마련, ② 화용적 오류 분석 및 상황에 적합한 표현 교육, ③ 다양한 친교적 기능의 적극적 활용 능력 배양, ④ 대학생의 실제적인 담화 확보 및 분석을 통한 교육 자료 개발이 필요함을 제언하였다.
Abstract
This study analyzes how foreign and Korean undergraduate students use phatic functions in university life. For this purpose, the study designed an oral Discourse Completion Test (DCT) based on phatic functions. Then the study collected utterances from 10 foreign and 10 Korean undergraduate students, and analyzed their utterances for phatic communication types and functions. The result revealed a similar distribution between foreign and Korean undergraduate students in terms of their realization of phatic communication types and functions. However, whereas Korean undergraduate students actively and specifically used a diverse range of phatic communication types and functions, foreign undergraduate students showed a relatively limited range of realization. Therefore, this study suggested the need to: (1) develop educational methods to enhance learners' sociocultural competence, (2) analyze pragmatic errors and teach contextually appropriate expressions, (3) cultivate the ability to actively utilize diverse phatic functions, and (4) secure and analyze authentic discourse of university students for effective phatic communication in university life.
