Abstract
This study explores how intercultural sensitivity and pandemic travel anxiety influence students’ satisfaction with the AUEA international exchange program, conducted between J University in Korea and several Malaysian universities before the complete resolution of the COVID-19 pandemic. Using t-tests, correlation, and regression analyses, the study empirically examined the differences and relationships among these three variables. The analysis revealed that while intercultural sensitivity did not significantly differ by nationality, Malaysian students reported higher levels of pandemic travel anxiety and program satisfaction. Furthermore, intercultural sensitivity showed a positive association with program satisfaction, whereas pandemic travel anxiety was not significantly correlated with any other variable. Regression results further confirmed that intercultural sensitivity was the sole significant predictor of program satisfaction. These findings suggest that post-pandemic international exchange programs should be designed with careful attention to intercultural competence, emotional responses, and overall program quality to enhance participants’ educational experiences.
