「不定語モ」と「1＋助数詞モ」に関する一考察

본고의 목적은 일본어 「不定語モ」와 「1+助数詞モ」의 문법적 성질을 밝히는 것이다. 이 두 표현은 선행연구에서 동일 표현으로 간주되어 왔다. 그러나 유사점에 대한 상세한 기술을 찾기 어려운 데다가, 본고의 연구 결과 두 표현은 완전히 동일한 것으로 볼 수 없다. 이에 본고는 「不定語モ」와 「1+助数詞モ」의 유사점과 상이점을 통어론・의미론・형태론적인 접근방식으로 밝히겠다. 특히, 두 표현이 (i)다중부정호응표현구문에서 허용될 수 있는가, (ii)정도부사에 의해 수식될 수 있는가에 있어서 상이한 양상을 보이는 데에 주목하고, 이러한 상이점이 보이는 이유는 무엇인지 밝히겠다. 요약하자면, (i)「不定語モ」는 전칭양화사로서의 특징을 지니고 있는 데에 반해, 「1+助数詞モ」는 존재양화사로서의 성질을 가지고 있다는 점, (ii)「1+助数詞モ」는 「不定語モ」와는 달리 동일구성소의 숙주명사구가 항상 현재화(顕在化)해서 「1+助数詞モ」를 수식해야한다는 점, (iii)「1+助数詞モ」는 의미적으로 「不定語モ」보다 강한(strong) 부정호응표현으로서 분류된다는 점, 이상의 세 가지 특징에 기인해 상술한 상이점이 보이게 되었다는 것을 밝히겠다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the grammatical properties of “Indefinite+mo” and “1+Classifier+mo” in Japanese. Although both have been frequently taken up as the main focus of previous research, they have been equated without conducting adequate research. This study argues that this should be corrected, and clarifies the similarities and differences between “Indefinite+mo” and “1+Classifier+mo” through syntactic, semantic, and morphological approaches. In particular, this study notes that both exhibit different behaviors in (i) whether or not they are permitted in multiple NSI(Negative Sensitive Item) constructions, and (ii) whether or not they are modified by an adverb hotondo ‘almost’. In short, (i) “Indefinite+mo” is a universal quantifier, while “1+Classifier+mo” is an existential quantifier, (ii) in “1+Classifier+mo” unlike “Indefinite+mo”, the host noun phrase having the same constituent must always be manifested, and (iii) “1+Classifier+mo” is semantically stronger than “Indefinite+mo”. Owing to these three facts, the above-mentioned differences between “1+Classifier+mo” and “Indefinite+mo” were found.
