越境学習によって創り出される水平的学習 ― 2大学の学生が協働した韓国絵本読み聞かせ会の実践を例に ―

本稿では韓国読み聞かせ会を実践するために、2つの大学の学生が越境し、ホームとアウェイを往還 する中で起きた水平的学習を明らかにした。本稿で取り上げる実践は、韓国語を専攻する大学生が2冊 の韓国絵本を子ども向けの日本語に翻訳し、日本語教育を専攻する大学生がそれを外国人にもわかり やすい「やさしい日本語」に書き換えた。さらにこの2つの大学の学生が混合グループをつくり、日本国 内外に在住する様々な背景を持つ子どもたちに向けて、多言語による絵本読み聞かせ会を開催した。 実践後、学生2名にインタビュー調査を実施したところ、自分とは異なる専門領域、経験を持つ人との 協働から生まれる視点や複数の言語で絵本と子どもたちをつなぐ仲介的な役割から得られる学び、さ らには「外国につながる子ども」の存在やその子どもたちに対する継承語教育など、自身を取り巻く社 会に目を向ける学びが起きていることが明らかになった。
Abstract
This paper elucidated the horizontal learning that occurred when students from two universities crossed borders and traveled back and forth in order to hold a Korean story-reading event. For the event, university students who majored in Korean translated two Korean picture books into Japanese for children, and those who majored in Japanese Language Education rewrote them in “yasashii nihongo (plain Japanese)” for the ease of understanding of non-Japanese. The students from the two universities also formed a group together and held a multilingual story-reading event for children from various backgrounds living in Japan and abroad. After the event, the author conducted interviews with two of the students and recognized that they had gained new perspectives as a result of collaborating with people with different expertise and experiences, learned from the role of connecting children to picture books in multiple languages, and learned to pay attention to the existence of children with foreign backgrounds and inherited language education for those children.
