한국어 학습자의 신체 관용어 이해 및 표현 지식 연구 -중국어권 학습자를 중심으로-

초록

This study aims to investigate Korean learners' receptive and productive knowledge on the body-related idioms. In order to assess learners' vocabulary knowledge on body-centered idioms, this study first selects body-centered idiom items for educational purposes based on their frequency in corpus, coverage in Korean textbooks, as well as learnability, which is measured by semantic transparency. As a result, 3 beginning-level items, 23 intermediate-level items, and 20 advanced-level items are included in the body-centered idiom list. These 47 body-centered idioms are then incorporated into Vocabulary Knowledge Scale(VKS), which is used to measure the learners' receptive and productive knowledge. The study then compares the receptive and productive knowledge on body-centered idioms between learners from different proficiency levels, and on items selected as different levels. The one-way ANOVA and paired-t test result demonstrates that Chinese learners have acquired beginning-level items at the beginning level, as merely receptive vocabulary, however. At the intermediate level, not only intermediate-level items but also advanced-level items are acquired both as receptive vocabulary while beginning-level items are developed into productive vocabulary. Finally, at the advanced level, productive knowledge on beginning-level items has been enhanced, but intermediate- and advanced-level items remained at the receptive level, distant from the productive level.
