比较句中助动词“要”的用法考察 —— 以“X＋比＋Y＋W”句式为主

명대와 청대 시기 자료를 고찰한 결과, ‘X＋比＋Y＋W’구문에서 인식양태동사‘要’는 청대 말기에 사용된 것을 나타났다. ‘要’의 통사적 위치에 따라 ‘전치식’, ‘후치식’, ‘중복출현식’의 세 가지로 구분할 수 있다. 이 중에서 후치식이 가장 많이 쓰인 것으로 나타났다. 현대중국어 자료를 고찰한 결과, ‘X＋比＋Y＋W’구문에서 ‘要’는 주로 인식양태의미를 나타내지만, 일부 의미적, 통사적 환경에서 ‘要’가 화자의 판단을 나타내지 않는 경우도 있다. 이러한 용례는 소수 발견되었지만 ‘要’가 문법화 과정에 있음을 보여주는 증거라고 할 수 있다. 전치식에서 ‘要’는 ‘比’자와 결합해서 2음절 비교표지 ‘要比’로 쓰일 가능성이 있는데 이 경우 ‘要’는 어휘형태소로 문법화될 것이다. 반면에 후치식에서 ‘要’는 비교결과를 부각시키는 초점표지로 문법화될 가능성이 있으며 이 경우 비교구문 ‘比...要...’구문을 이루게 된다.
Abstract
This paper discusses the usage of the auxiliary verb "YAO(要)" in "X+bi(比)+Y+W" Comparative Sentences, both diachronically and synchronically. Based on linguistic data from the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty, the epistemic modal verb "YAO(要)" began to appear in "X+bi(比)+Y+W" Comparative Sentences at the end of the Qing Dynasty. Although such cases were not common in the linguistic data of Qing Dynasty, "YAO(要)" could be placed in front of the word "bi(比)" or in front of the component W or even at both positions at the same time. Based on the corpus of Modern Chinese, it is clear that "YAO(要)" in "X+bi(比)+Y+W" sentences expresses the epistemic meaning mainly. However, it cannot express such meaning any more in some semantic or syntactic environments. Such cases hold a small proportion, but show the further tendency of "YAO(要)"'s grammaticalization. To be specific, "YAO(要)" which is placed in front of the word "bi(比)" will be combined with "bi(比)" right behind it, with a chance that the disyllabic word will act as a comparative mark, and "YAO(要)" will then turn to be a morpheme within a word. On the other hand, "YAO(要)" which is placed in front of the component W will be a focus mark which gives prominence to the comparison results right behind it, and it will combine with "bi(比)" to form a Comparative Construction "bi(比)...YAO(要)...".
