1930년대 한국 언론의 중국 영화 인식

Abstract

This paper focuses on describing and analyzing Korean interpretation about Chinese movies in 1930s as examining critiques articles about Chinese movies. Under Japanese Ruling Era, Korean movie world had a duty to make more excellent films than Hollywood ones that were sensationally popular to overcome cultural depression. However, Korean movies failed to make a breakthrough because of lack of funds,infrastructures, and censorship of Japanese Government General, etc. Under these backgrounds, Chinese movies started to be introduced gradually, and those were expected to be Korean models for identities of Eastern traditional values. But there were many articles which said Chinese movies were better than Korean ones, and Hollywood’s movies were better than Chinese ones. This, of cause, may reflect complex or self-mocking feeling to U. S. and other Western countries as a colonial people, but in other word, it can be very encouraging on account of expecting Chinese movies’ development through objective analysis and seeking Korean movies’ way.
