Abstract

This study aims to analyze how morality is formed and practiced in a social context within the 2022 revised moral education curriculum and to derive educational implications through the lens of classical sociological theories. Based on the moral concepts of Weber, Simmel, Durkheim, and Marx, this research explores the process by which morality is constructed through individual agency and social relationships. The findings indicate that Weber’s methodological individualism emphasizes autonomous moral judgment, Simmel’s constructivism highlights the formation of morality through social interactions, and Durkheim’s holism suggests that moral norms are essential for social solidarity and community cohesion. Additionally, Marx’s theory of hierarchical stratification underscores how morality is shaped by social inequality and structural conditions, showing its potential connection to ecological ethics in a contemporary context. This study suggests that moral education should move beyond mere normative learning and toward fostering students' critical thinking and practical moral engagement.
