본 논문은 막스 베버의 가치 합리성 개념을 통해 도덕성에 대한 인지적 접근을 탐구한다. 베버는 가치 합리성을 통해 목적 합리성을 넘어서 도덕적, 윤리적 가치 평가에 중점을 두었다. 가치 합리성은 단순히 목표 달성을 위한 수단적 가치가 아니라, 행위 자체의 도덕적 가치를 판단하기 위해 필수적이다. 논문에서는 칸트의 실천 이성 이론, 공리주의, 롤스의 정의론, 하버마스의 소통 이론 등 다양한 철학적 이론을 검토하고 비판적으로 분석하며, 베버의 가치 합리성이 현대 도덕 교육에 어떻게 통합될 수 있는지를 논의한다. 가치 합리성은 학생들이 도덕적 판단과 감정을 사회적 맥락 속에서 이해하게 하고, 이를 바탕으로 복잡한 도덕적 딜레마를 해결하는 능력을 개발하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 이러한 접근은 도덕성에 대한 이해의 범위를 확장하고 복잡한 사회 현상을 설명하는 새로운 차원을 제시함으로써, 도덕 교육과 사회 과학 분야에 중요한 기여를 할 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper explores a cognitive approach to morality through Max Weber's concept of Wertrationalität. With Wertrationalität, Weber moves beyond Zweckrationalität and focuses on the evaluation of moral and ethical values. This is essential for judging the moral value of an act in itself, rather than simply as a means to an end. The paper reviews and critically analyses various philosophical theories, including Kant's theory of practical reason, utilitarianism, Rawls's theory of justice, and Habermas's theory of communication, and discusses how Weber's Wertrationalität can be integrated into contemporary moral education. Wertrationalität plays an important role in helping students understand moral judgements and emotions in a social context, and in developing their ability to resolve complex moral dilemmas. This approach can make an important contribution to moral education and the social sciences by expanding the scope of our understanding of morality and providing a new dimension for explaining complex social phenomena.
