문】논증의 분류기준을 명확히 하는 일은 논증이나 추론을 이해하고 평가하는 데 중요하다. 그간에 논리학 관련 저작에서는 연역과 귀납이라는 단순한 분류에 만족하는 경향이 있었다. 비형식 논리학과 일부 비판적 사고의 출현은 이런 경향을 벗어나기 위한 시도에서 시작되었다. 여기서는 논증에 대해 보다 구체적인 몇 가지 분류기준을 제시하고 그 기준에 의한 분류를 시도하였고, 나아가 서로 다른 기준에 의한 분류를 교차함으로써 논증에 대한 이해의 폭과 깊이가 커질 수 있다고 주장하였다. 또한 비판적 사고, 비형식 논리학 등을 포함한 논리학 관련 분야에서 이루어진 논증에 관한 몇 가지 분류 및 분류의 교차가 어떤 점에서 부적절했으며, 어떤 점에서 논증의 분석과 평가에 기여했는지 지적하였다.
Abstract
Kinds of Arguments and Some Criteria of Argument Evaluation: What can we learn from critical thinking and informal logic? Joonho Park To clarify classifications of argument is important for analyzing and evaluating arguments. Most works in logic, informal logic, and critical thinking paid no great attention to the criterion of classifying arguments. We are trying to give consistent and systematic ways of argument classifying and several ways of crossover between the sorts of argument. Some crossovers given by logic, informal logic, and critical thinking are criticized and the significance of a good crossover is considered. By doing these works, what we can learn from critical thinking and informal logic as well as logic is revealed.
