Abstract
This paper examines climate change as a moral issue encompassing questions of justice, responsibility, and rights, and analyzes its nature and educational implications from the perspective of moral psychology. It explores the moral nature of climate change, identifies psychological mechanisms underlying moral indifference toward it, and proposes teaching strategies to overcome such indifference through moral education. This paper suggests that emotional engagement through victim-centered narratives, morally pluralistic message framing, and the activation of moral identity are key elements for fostering moral climate citizenship. The findings highlight moral psychology as a critical theoretical and practical resource for driving transformative change in climate change education. In the era of climate crisis, moral education must begin with inner awareness and expand into moral action grounded in global civic responsibility.
