현대사회에서 테크놀로지를 제외한다면 문명의 형식과 내용이 지금과는 크게 달랐을 것이다. 이제 기술문명은 우리 사회의 구석구석에 큰 영향을 주고 있는 것이다. 스포츠라는 문화적 현상에서도 이러한 영향은 예외가 아니다. 따라서 본 연구는 테크놀로지가 스포츠라는 문화의 한 영역에 어떻게 영향을 끼치고 있는가를 알아보고자 했다. 인간이 중심이 되어야 할 스포츠에서 테크놀로지의 영향은 스포츠 행위자의 행위를 측정하는 것이 아닌 기술을 측정하는 것이 될 수 있기에 세심한 접근이 필요할 것이다. 하지만 테크놀로지의 완전 배제란 현대 문명사회에서 불가능한 일일뿐더러 일반 대중이 원하는 기존 및 새로운 스포츠에의 적극적 참여를 장려한다는 측면에서 테크놀로지 도입의 긍정적 측면이 있다는 점 또한 간과해서는 아니 될 것이다.
Abstract
Current society would be totally different if technology were taken out from us. Technology greatly influences our society and defines our way of life. Sports, one of our cultural phenomena, cannot avoid impact of technology. Therefore, this study reviewed how technology has been interrelated with sports. Influx of technology into sports may transform the nature of sports. Human should be at the center of sports. Active implementation of technology in sports could measure the level of our technological development rather than our performance. However, total exclusion of technology from sports is impossible. In addition, technology positively affects people's participation in sports. Thus, careful consideration on how far we go in relation to technology and sports is needed.
