Abstract

The paper is research for the development and character of the Lixue of Geumgang Culture Area in the mid-Joseon Dynasty. The Geumgang Cultural Area can be said to be a generic term for various social cultures developed around the place where the river passed from the origin of the Geumgang River to the sea. Lixue in the Mid-Joseon Dynasty also belongs to the culture of Geumgang Cultural Area. Lixue is an academic phenomenon that intensively appeared at a specific period from the 16th century to the 18th century in the history of studying abroad in Joseon. and It also flourished greatly in the Geumgang Cultural Area. Sagye Kim Jang-saeng, who is called the leader of Lixue, came from the Geumgang Cultural Area, and his son and disciples followed him and developed Lixue. Here, led by Sagye Kim Jang-saeng, I would like to clarify the development and characteristics of lixue through research on Shindokjae Kim-Jip, Uam Song Shi-yeol, Choryeo Lee Yoo-tae, and Noseo Yoon Seon-geo. In order to realize suitable Lixue for reality, they created and distributed Lixue book. They developed various forms of Lixue.
