백제 멸망시기 신라군의 공격 상황 재고 : 탄현과 황산벌 지역 위치 비정을 중심으로

그동안 삼국통일 과정에 대한 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔지만 일반적으로 부족한 사료로 인하여 정확한 결론에 도달하는데 한계가 있었다. 따라서 백제군의 방어에 중요한 지역인 탄현과 황산벌의 위치를 비정치 못함은 물론 신라군이 지상공격과 관련한 작전상황을 정확하고 설득력 있게 고증하는 일은 매우 어려움이 사실이다. 신라와 당나라가 연합한 나당연합군은 660년, 삼국을 통일하기 위한 행보를 내딛기 시작하였다. 당군은 서해 해안선의 수로를 이용하여 백제의 수도인 사비로 진군하였으며, 신라군은 지상의 이동로를 통하여 공격하는 등 수륙양면에서 백제를 압박하였다. 이러한 시기에 백제의 신하인 성충과 흥수는 나당연합군의 공격에 대해 백강구(기벌포)를 통과하지 못하게 하고 탄현에서 육로를 방어하면 나라를 보전할 수 있을 것이라 충언한다. 위와 같이 신라군의 백제공격과 관련한 관심사에는 탄현이라는 지정학적 장소가 그 중심부에 있다. 그리고 계백이 김유신과 전투를 치룬 황산벌도 지대한 관심이 쏠려있다 할 수 있을 것이다. 그러나 이 두 장소는 현재까지 많은 연구가 이루어져 왔음에도 불구하고 아직주류 입장이 형성되지 못하고 있는 상황이다. 이에 본 연구를 통한 결론은 황산벌은 현재의 연산면 천호리, 송정리, 화악리 일대이며 탄현은 흑석동산성 인근 석고개로 추정할 수 있다는 것이다. 그리고 이를 통하여 신라군의 전반적인 백제 공격 상황을 구상할 수 있었다.
Abstract
Many studies have been conducted on the process of unification of the Three Kingdoms, but there has been a limit to reaching the exact conclusion due to the shortage of historical materials. Therefore, not only is it difficult to establish the location of Tanhyeon and Hwangsanbeol, which are important areas for the defense of Baekje-gun, but it is also very difficult for the Silla military to prove the operational situation related to ground attacks. In 660, the Silla-Tang alliance began to take steps to unify the Three Kingdoms. The Tang marched to Sabi, the capital of Baekje, using the waterway along the West Sea coastline, and the Silla army pressed Baekje on both sides by attacking through mobile routes on the ground. During this period, Baekje's servants Seongchung and Heungsu say that Baekje would be prevented from passing through Gibeolpo Port against attacks by Enemy, and that if they defended the land from Tanhyeon, they would be able to protect the country. As such, the geopolitical location of Tanhyeon lies at the center of the Silla Army's attack on Baekje. And Hwangsanbeol, where Gyebaek fought against Kim Yu-shin, is also drawing keen attention You can do it. However, although many studies have been conducted so far, the two places have yet to form a mainstream position. The conclusion of this study suggests that Hwangsanbeol is the current area of Cheonho-ri, Songjeong-ri, and Hwaak-ri in Yeonsan-myeon, and Tanhyeon is a stone hill near Heukseokdongsanseong Fortress. Through this, Silla's general attack on Baekje was envisaged.
