Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate the global trend of decreased physical activity level in children and adolescents caused by COVID-19, and provide informational data to facilitate policies for promoting physical activity among children and adolescents in South Korea post COVID-19. Based on the findings, the study recommends the following: Firstly, assessment indicators related to physical activity among children and adolescents should be given priority as national assessment indicators in national health promotion policy. Secondly, there should be strong support for active participation and expansion of the global surveillance network for sedentary behavior in physical activity among children and adolescents. Thirdly, given that pandemics such as COVID-19 may occur in the future, it is imperative to focus on risks through physical inactivity, and in particular, increasing awareness of health benefits for children and adolescents.
