Abstract

In modern society, the wind of the fourth industrial revolution is blowing, and the importance of the curriculum on cultural contents is increasing in each university. However, the actual curriculum is not able to keep up with the rapid increase rate.,This paper examines the existing cases of storytelling in modern poetry in this sense of problem, examines the meaning of the method, and examines the actual cases of classes. As is well known, poetry is a style that emphasizes lyric rather than narrative due to the nature of genre. Therefore, in the case of poetry- based contents, it can be said that most of the cases use poetry rather than poetry-based adaptations, as in the case of advertisements or dramas. Even if there is an epic in the case of poetry, it can not be said that the narrative is sufficiently revealed in the poem as in the novel or film on which the narrative is based, Therefore, when storytelling is based on poetry, the adapter should actively intervene to create a new narrative., As an example, we looked at the following two works, focusing on the transformation process of the adaptation. They are director Yoo Ha’s “The history of brutality in Maljuk Street(〈말죽거리 잔혹사〉)” based on “Birds go to Maljuk Street and Sleeps: To Seongsu” and “301･302” based on Jang Jeong-il’s poem “Cooks and Fasting artist” as motifs. In addition, as one of the <Strategy of Contentization of Contemporary Literature> class, Jeong Jaehak's poem <Going Out> was presented, and a case of an adaptation of the poem was examined. When poetry is turned into storytelling, the difficulty of creating a new narrative follows. However, it is rather beneficial in that it stimulates the imagination of the adapter and that the imagination of the adapter can actively intervene. From the perspective of the methodology of the adaptation class, as this thesis aims, it is better than the case of re-storytelling a genre already equipped with narrative in that it can fully express imagination and creativity while filling the space of the narrative of the poem that is lacking.
