「한글 맞춤법」 사이시옷 규정의 변천과 언어관: 1970년대 이후의 서로 다른 정서법들에 대한 검토를 중심으로

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to reveal how the different language perspectives related to orthographies are related each other, focusing on clause 30 of Hanguel Orthography(1988). To this end, the clauses related to Saisiot of the Korean government's Hangeul Orthography Amendments(1978/1979/1984/1987) prepared in the process of forming Hangeul Orthography(1988) and Hangeul Orthography(1980) of the Hangeul Society I looked. They were analyzed according to word-typism, sound-letter correspondences, standard language ideology, and linguistic regularization, and the differences and similarities were identified. In the spelling of Saisiot, the orthography of the Hangeul Society does not distinguish the word types, whereas a series of orthographies prepared by the Korean government strengthened the classification of the spelling according to the word types over time. This paper interprets this as originating from the difference in the social practices of using Hangeul-only and using together with Hangeul and Chinese characters. The Korean government's orthographies appears to deviate from the principle of sound-letter correspondences according to the word-typism of the spelling of Saisiot. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the orthographies dealt with in this paper construct spelling rules by linguistics, and share the standard language ideology that spelling should target a single standard language. However, linguistic regularization and standard language ideology make it difficult to write Saisiot on the contrary. This is because, fundamentally, the spelling of Saisiot is customary, and the phenomenon of Saisiot is irregular. In order to solve the problem of spelling, including Saisiot, it is necessary to reflect on the orthography from a constructivist point of view.
