본고는 한국어 대화에서 의문문의 지시 기능을 확인하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 우선 체계기능언어학의 관점에서 ‘지시’를 발화 ‘기능’의 한 종류로 보았으며 ‘질문’이나 ‘요청’과는 구분되는 개념으로 설정하였다. 또한 ‘지시 기능’의 하위 범주를 ‘권유’, ‘명령’, ‘요구’, ‘금지’, ‘주의’라는 발화 의도로 구분하였다. 각각의 기능을 말뭉치에서 확인하였다. 또한 해당 분야의 전문가 30인의 판정을 거치기도 했는데 이 결과 정답의 높은 일치율을 보였다. 이는 의문문이 지니는 지시 기능이 한국어 모어 화자들에게는 이미 익숙한 전략이며 한국인이라면 누구나 알 수 있는 것임을 확인할 수 있다는 것을 보여준다. 본 연구는 의문문의 지시 기능을 체계기능언어학의 관점에서 분석하였다는 점과 연구의 결과가 한국어교육 자료로 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the instructional function of interrogative in the Korean conversation. First of all, in this paper, from the perspective of ‘Systemic Functional Linguistics’, ‘instructions’ is viewed as a type of utterance ‘function’, and it is set as a concept distinct from ‘question’ or ‘request’. In addition, the subcategories of ‘instructions function’ are divided into the intention of utterance such as ‘suggestion’, ‘command’, ‘demand’, ‘prohibition’, and ‘caution’. Each function is confirmed through its use in the corpus of all provided by the National Institute of Korean Language. In addition, it was judged by 30 experts and as a result, it showed a high coincidence rate of the correct answers. It means that the instructions function of the interrogative is already a familiar strategy for native Korean speakers and can be understood by any Korean. As a result, each instructions function represented by the interrogative could be confirmed in the actual corpus. This study is significant in that it analyzed the instructions function of interrogative by referring to the perspective of conversation analysis research from the perspective of Systemic Functional Linguistics, and that the results of the study can be used for Korean language education.
