<김안국(金安國) 이야기>에 나타난 교육방법 분석과 교육적 적용

Abstract

'Kim An-Guk(金安國) story' is listed in Dongsanggichan(東廂記纂)(1918) which published in Hannamseorim(翰南書林). It is enough for us to pay attention to this story, because it shows us problems of early education and cramming education(learning by rote) with criticism. Kim Suk, the father of An-Guk, and his uncle, Kim Cheong, and An-Guk's wife, these three protagonists taught Chinese character to An-Guk who lacked literacy shills, had learning disabilities(dyslexia) in different ways. And the results was quite different. An-Guk's father tried to teach Chinese character(漢字) to An-Guk as soon as he started to say. An-Guk was forced learning by rote until he was 14 years old, though he had gotten learning disabilities(Dyslexia). His uncle also taught him in a same way later. But After An-Guk got married, his wife, most of all, tried to understand the reason why husband refused the characters, and what made his mind hurt through dialogue. And then she noticed the fact that he had good ability to remember what he listened. Therefore, she told him a lot of interesting story in order to have interest in knowing the character. Her helping to have self-confidence was also successful. It was focus on the learner's interest and led motivation through interaction between An-Guk and his wife. In other words, it is a result of the pursuit to personalized learner-centered education rather than teacher-centered teaching methods. In addition, it was to maximize the learner's learning ability through storytelling activity. 'Kim An-Guk story' tells us a lot of implications today. That story reveals the stigma of early education and cramming education in Choseon dynasty, as well as reflect critically educational issues on that time. It can be estimated that this work made good opportunity to reflect Character-centered and uniform education issues in pre-modern times. And this work indicates that we also have tried to solve educational problem, and that theory and methodology of the Western education equals to teaching strategies of An-Guk's wife in terms of teaching methods.
