Abstract

「Samgwangi」 is the storytelling book of Lee Jae′s. Lee Jae is a scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty. 「Samgwangi」 is a long storytelling that contains a long time and many events. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find educational and instructive contents and explore the meaning of 「Samgwangi」. In addition, this study will search storytelling strategy to catch the meaning of author. The following is a sub-themes of educational significance in 「Samgwangi」. They are as follows; The first is a mind set toward learning. The story contains views on the course of study. It is carefully considered so that readers who read this can refer to or imitate the process and methods. These contents are not only motivations for learning, but can also be important guidelines for understanding the nature of studying and setting the orientation of life. The second is describing the spirit of outstanding figures. It is characterized by focusing on the person who has committed an extraordinary act in the face of events and death. As a person's words and actions are important factors that remind him of himself, Lee Jae tried to evaluate the person again through words and deeds, while also making it a rule to reflect on human life. The third is the various aspects in a political dispute. It shows the aspect of the human world entangled in partisan strife. The storytelling strategy for this is to get people to think about reason by telling hidden stories of events or characters. It also implements strategies to facilitate the identification of characters and stories by comparing them to historical stories. Storytelling along with historical stories is to remind and alert the diverse and vain aspects of the human world.
