본고에서는 협화어의 대표적인 자료인 나카야(1926) 「일지합반어에서 올바른 중국어로」에 수록된 어휘를 대상으로 분류를 실시하고, 독자적인 어원 분류표를 작성하였다. 기원 언어와 어휘 형성의 관점에서 분석을 진행하여 그 어휘론적 특징을 밝히는 한편, 협화어의 전체상을 보다 정밀하게 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 구체적으로는, 나카야(1926)의 어휘를 기존어(일본어), 조어(일본어+일본어), 기존어(중국어), 조어(중국어+중국어), 기존어(러시아어), 복수 언어 기원어(일본어+중국어)의 여섯 가지로 분류하여 형성의 다양성을 제시하고, 동시에 기원 언어와 형성과정을 검토하였다. 그 결과, ‘일지합반어’는 단순한 일중 양 언어 어휘의 혼합체가 아니라, 양 언어의 상호 접촉에 기초하여 어휘를 단순화하고 재편성하는 동시에 일본어의 구문적 영향을 받아 성립한 체계적인 접촉어임이 밝혀졌다. 협화어에 대한 명확한 정의는 여전히 확립되어 있지 않으나, 본 연구의 분석은 그 실태를 규명하는 데 중요한 일환이 될 것이다.
Abstract
In this paper, I classify the vocabulary recorded in From “Nisshi Gōban-go” to Proper Chinese by Nakaya (1926), one of the representative sources of Kyōwa-go, and construct an original etymological classification table. The analysis is carried out from the perspectives of source languages and lexical formation, with the aim of elucidating the lexical characteristics of Kyōwa-go and gaining a more precise understanding of its overall structure. Specifically, the vocabulary in Nakaya (1926) is categorized into six types: existing words (Japanese), coinages (Japanese + Japanese), existing words (Chinese), coinages (Chinese + Chinese), existing words (Russian), and multiple-origin words (Japanese + Chinese). This typology demonstrates the diversity of lexical formation while also making it possible to examine the source languages and the processes of lexical development. The findings indicate that Nisshi Gōban-go was not merely a mixture of Japanese and Chinese lexemes but rather a systematic contact language that emerged through the simplification and reorganization of vocabulary in the context of mutual contact between the two languages, while simultaneously reflecting syntactic influence from Japanese. Although a precise definition of Kyōwa-go has yet to be firmly established, the present analysis represents an important step toward clarifying its actual linguistic nature.
