Abstract
The biggest concern among Malaysian politicians in 2023 was whether the Unity Government would be able to stably carry out the reforms desired by the Malaysian people despite internal and external challenges. Anwar Ibrahim, a symbol of reformasi, has pledged to eradicate corruption, strengthen democracy, and solve the economic recovery hampered by the pandemic with the MADANI economic framework and NIMP 2030. However, the withdrawal of charges against Ismail Sabri, president and deputy prime minister of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) and the request for former Prime Minister Najib's pardon caused microcracks within the party and put the Anwar government on edge. Due to the good performance of Barisna Nasional, which caused a green wave in the state elections, it has become urgent to prepare measures to gain support from the Malay-Muslim community in the future. According to a survey by the Merdeca Center released in October, warnings are being heard everywhere for the first time in a year under Anwar as the approval rating of the unified government has fallen due to economic problems. In line with the time of the Sultan’s change in 2024, political and economic reforms are required for the security of the Anwar government’s regime.
