이 연구는 일본어학교에서 초임 일본어 교사가 문법 지도에서 직면하는 어려움을 사례 연구를 바탕으로 분석한 것이다. 3년 미만의 경력을 가진 시간제 교사를 대상으로 한 인터뷰를 통해, 세 가지 주요 어려움이 확인되었다: "수업 도입," "정보 접근성," 그리고 "교사 간 협력."수업 도입과 관련하여, 교사들은 학습자의 이해를 돕기 위해 상황 설정과 교재 제작에 많은 시간을 투자하지만, 의도한 대로 내용을 효과적으로 전달하는 데 어려움을 겪는 경우가 많다. 정보 접근성 측면에서는, 기존의 교재나 인터넷 자료가 학습자의 구체적인 질문에 충분히 대응하지 못해, 교사가 즉석에서 설명을 고안해야 하는 부담이 발생하고 있었다. 또한, 교사 간 협력 문제로는 용어 및 지도 방법의 일관성이 부족한 점, 그리고 동료 교사에게 도움을 요청하는 데 심리적 장벽이 존재하는 점이 지적되었다.이러한 어려움을 완화하기 위해서는 교육 자료 공유, 연수 프로그램 강화뿐만 아니라, 개별 교사에게 모든 부담을 전가하지 않고 실천적 교육 지식을 공동으로 축적하고 지원하는 체계적인 지원 시스템 구축이 필수적이다. 앞으로는 보다 다양한 사례 연구를 통해 효과적인 지원 전략을 구체적으로 탐색할 필요가 있다.
Abstract
This study examines the challenges novice Japanese language teachers face in grammar instruction at Japanese language schools, based on a case study. Through an interview with a part-time teacher with less than three years of experience, three major difficulties were identified: "lesson introduction," "information access," and "teacher collaboration." Regarding lesson introduction, teachers spend significant time creating situational contexts and teaching materials, yet often struggle to convey their intended meaning effectively. Regarding information access, learners' specific questions are not always addressed by existing resources like textbooks and online materials, which forces teachers to improvise explanations onthe fly. Inconsistencies in terminology and instructional methods, along with psychological barriers to seeking support from colleagues, are issues that hinder teacher collaboration. To alleviate these challenges, it is essential to enhance resource-sharing, training programs, and a systematic support network that encourages the accumulation of practical teaching knowledge rather than placing the burden solely on individual teachers. Future research should expand the scope of case studies to explore effective support strategies in greater detail.
