Abstract
This study explores the psychological conflicts of early childhood institution directors after suspected child abuse allegations, aiming to identify ways to support their emotional stability. The photovoice method was employed with three directors who had experienced actual child abuse reports in their institutions. Data were collected through photographs taken by the participants and in-depth interviews. The results revealed that the directors experienced severe shock and confusion immediately following the suspected child abuse allegations, along with damaged trust in their institutions and deteriorated relationships with both parents and teachers. After the incidents, the directors engaged in self-examination and reconstructed their managerial and educational approaches, which often resulted in extreme psychological stress. During the investigation process, they reported feelings of unfairness, helplessness, social criticism, and emotional exhaustion. Even the mere allegation of child abuse destabilized their psychological well-being and professional identity. The findings suggest the need for improvements in child abuse reporting systems, the establishment of psychological support structures in early childhood education, and the recovery of trust and collaboration between institutions and families. These are essential not only for effective responses and prevention of suspected child abuse allegations but also for restoring the values of warm care and educational integrity that early childhood education pursues.
