매인풀이씨의 문법화 양상

우리말의 매인풀이씨는 어휘적 특성과 문법적 특성을 모두 지니는 요소이다. 물론 매인풀이씨가 문법화의 과정 속에서 이러한 특성들을 가지는 것으로도 볼 수 있지만, 매인풀이씨 범주는 개별 매인풀이씨들을 하나의 묶음으로 본 것이다. 따라서 이들이 공통적으로 나타내는 특성에 초점을 맞추어야 한다. 이 글에서는 매인풀이씨 범주가 나타내는 범주적 특성에 초점을 두어, 형태․통어․의미적인 측면을 모두 고려한 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 매인풀이씨들이 어휘적 특성을 많이 가진 것에서 문법적 특성을 많이 가진 것까지 문법화의 단계에서 설정될 수 있을 것이라 보았다. 이 글은 매인풀이씨와 선행 풀이씨의 결합 제약, 매인풀이씨와 후행 매인풀이씨의 결합 제약 등을 통하여 그 단계 설정의 가능성을 살펴본 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the stage of grammaticization in Korean Auxiliary Verbs(KAVs). I think KAVs have the characteristics of middle category as lexico-grammatical category. Therefore KAVs are located on the specific position of the path of grammaticization each KAVs. The position of KAVs which have lexicality are near to the lexical element, and which have grammaticality are near to grammatical element. In this paper, I will assert that KAV category is undergoing a change to the grammatical element in grammaticization, like endings. For this purpose, I explore a selectional condition of combining main verbs and KAVs, KAVs and KAVs before and behind.
