Abstract
The purpose of this study was to develop a motion recognition system-based program for assessing motor abilities in children with developmental disabilities and to validate its suitability and reliability. Experts in the field of adapted physical activity developed the program based on the "Movement Analysis Framework – The Wheel" concept, extracting factors of Locomotor Skill, Manipulative Skill, and Nonmanipulative Skill. Subsequently, the program underwent expert committee reevaluation, content validity testing, and reliability testing. Content validity index was evaluated on a 5-point scale, internal consistency was assessed using Cronbach's α, and test-retest reliability was determined using Pearson correlation analysis. The developed program was validated by 20 specialists in adapted physical activity, with an average content validity index of .99. Results from a survey of 30 students with developmental disabilities and parents showed high internal consistency (α = .861) and strong test-retest reliability (r = .912). Through systematic methods, this study developed a program for assessing motor abilities in children with developmental disabilities and validated its potential as an evaluation tool through content validity and reliability testing. Thus, the motion recognition system-based program holds promise for assessing motor abilities in children with developmental disabilities.
