Abstract
This paper aims to review social backgrounds(school, region, occupation linkages) of members of six main government regulatory commissions in Korea from the perspective of power elitism. Which group rules the government commissions in Korea? Although analytical results show some variations across the commissions and across administrations, main components of members of government commissions come form Seoul National University, Yongnam Province, Government Bureaucrats backgrounds. Also, power network analyses imply that this mainstream group maintains the reign of regulatory commissions in terms of information and resources bases and decision-making influences.
