Abstract

The process of which the foreigners including Chinese acquire Korean begins with the learning vocabulary. Whether it is Korean or Chinese, the compound expressions such as the root with affixes are common, because a word could not express the meaning perfectively. Though the vocabulary of Korean or Chinese are expressed by Chinese characters, the derived expressions represent the meaning which is different from the affixes or the root by the combining precess. The purpose of this paper reviews the 35 affixes which appear in 11 books used as the text book at the college level in China for the Korean learners, and classifies those affixes into two groups which represents the afformative or negative meaning, and the negative groups are sub-classified with explicit and potential negative meaning. This classification will provide the appropriate interpretation of the expressions and clarify the different usage between Chinese and Korean. Consequently, this data will effective for the foreigners to learn Korean more easily.
