남자 예비유아교사가 느끼는 고충에 관한 기초 연구

본 연구는 남자예비유아교사가 느끼고 있는 어려움과 고충에 대해 질적으로 분석하고 유아교육현장에서 필수불가결한 남자유아교사의 인식과 권위를 증가시킬 수 있도록 하는 정책의 기초자료로 활용 되는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구대상으로는 경남 C시 M대학교 유아교육과에 재학 중인 예비 남자 유치원교사 5명을 목적표집으로 지정하여 연구를 하였고 연구절차는 2019년 7월부터 10월까지 수행되었으며 심층면담과 포커스 인터뷰, 전화통화, 카카오톡 등의 자료를 삼각검증법(triangulation)을 통해 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 남자예비유치원교사들은 대체적으로 여자교사들보다는 잘 해야한다는 부담감을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 남자예비유치원교사들은 주변의 부정적인 인식을 인지하고 있었고, 이와 같은 편견을 없애기 위해 능동적으로 행동하고 있었다. 셋째, 연구를 통해 남자유치원교사들은 자신들을 놀이중심교육과정의 적임자라고 생각하고 있었다. 2019. 개정 누리과정에서 강조되고 있는 놀이중심과정을 통한 학습에 남자교사들이 지니고 있는 강한체력이 절실히 필요하다는 것을 강조하며 유아교육기관에서의 남자교사의 필요성을 피력했다. 이와 같은 남자예비유치원교사들의 절실한 요구들을 받아 드리기 위해서 유아교육기관 관련 종사자들의 인식개선을 위한 계속된 연구가 절실히 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the difficulties and hardships male pre-service kindergarten teachers feel and to use it as basic data for policies designed to increase the awareness and authority of male pre-service kindergarten teachers. For this study, Five (5) male students attending to M University, located in Gyeongsangnam Province majoring in early childhood education participated in the present study. It conducted a qualitative data such as focus group interview, phone call, and SNS from July to October 2019. The results showed that the male pre-service kindergarten teachers generally had the burden of doing better than female teachers. Secondly, the male pre-service kindergarten teachers were aware of the negative perceptions among acquaintances. Thirdly, the male pre-service kindergarten teachers thought they were the right person for an play-oriented education course. They expressed the need for male teachers at the kindergarten. In order to meet these desperate needs of the male pre-service kindergarten teachers, continuous research is urgently needed to improve awareness among early childhood education researchers.
