초록
This study examines causes of some problems that Korean learners of Japanese have when applying listening behavior. Through observing and analyzing the learners’ inappropriate application of listening behavior, problems are found to be caused by some differences of their mother tongue (Korean) and the target language (Japanese). The results are summarized as follow:(1) Listening behavior influenced by the learners’ mother tongue (Korean)① Using Korean words such as ‘ye-ye’, ‘o-/o-o-’ etc. ② Not using listening behavior when it is required(2) Listening behavior influenced by the speech style of Japanese③ Using ‘na-ru-ho-do-ne (なるほどね)’ to seniors at the first meeting④ Using unstable speech style in the same conversation(3) Listening behavior influenced by the mother tongue and the target language⑤ Using redundant expressions⑥ Creating unstable discourse by using low-level expression of politeness, ‘N(ん)’(4) Listening behavior influenced by lack of variation⑦ Over-generalizing ‘ha-i(はい)’⑧ Avoiding ‘e-e(ええ)’⑨ Using inappropriate listening behavior for the context:a.Using inappropriately ‘so-de-su-ne/so-naN-de-de-ne(そうですね/そうなんです)’ for agreement b.Using ‘ha-i(はい)’ instead of ‘a-(あー)、ha-a(はあ)、he-(へー)’ to show interest c.Using ‘so-de-su-ne(そうですね)’ most among ‘so – ‘expressions of listening behavior
