日本語の短母音と長母音に対する韓国語話者の反応時間分析 -日本語話者との比較から-

한국어는 모음의 장단이 대립하지 않기 때문에 한국어 화자가 일본어의 단모음, 장모음을 범주적으로 지각하기는 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 일본어 화자 5명, 한국어 화자 5명을 대상으로 일본어 단모음을 지각하는데 소요되는 시간과 일본어 장모음을 지각하는데 소요되는 시간을 분석, 일본어 화자와 한국어 화자의 경향을 비교하였다. 검토 결과, 일본어 화자는 일본어 단모음과 장모음에 대한 반응시간에 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 반면, 한국어 화자는 개인차는 있지만, 일본어 장모음에 대한 반응시간이 단모음에 대한 반응시간보다 긴 경향을 보였다. 한국어 화자의 경우는 일본어 장모음을 판별할 때, 장모음 길이에 관한 판단의 불확실성으로 반응시간이 지연되기 때문이라고 해석된다.
Abstract
It is not easy for a Korean speaker to classify Japanese short vowels and long vowels categorically because short vowels and long vowels in Korean do not conflict with each other. In this paper, the reaction time required to perceive Japanese short vowels and the reaction time required to perceive Japanese long vowels by five Japanese native speakers and five Korean native speakers were analyzed and the tendency of Japanese speakers and Korean speakers was compared. Results showed no statistically significant difference in terms of reaction time to Japanese short vowels and long vowels by Japanese native speakers. In contrast, reaction time to Japanese long vowels tended to be longer than the reaction time to Japanese short vowels for Korean speakers, although there were individual differences among Korean speakers. Such result might be due to delayed reaction time caused by uncertainty of judgment for Japanese long vowels by Korean speakers.
