Abstract

This study is about the ancient Korean folklore in Ehime, Japan. In fact, there are two different perspectives on Ancient Koreans. The first perspective of ancient Koreans was the immigrants that puts great efforts on the local development. Dadara, Goraiike, Garako, Wonboksa presents traces of the Gaya’s blacksmiths and Koguryo’s engineers and monks. The second perspective was the hostility towards the ancient Koreans. The historical facts that Paek River battle and Mongol invasions of Japan were reflected on the hostility. Also, the legend of Empress Jingu’s invasion was the creation of hostility towards ancient Koreans. The local myth also confirms the historical fact that remnants of the Japanese army were sent to the China after Paek River battle. In particular, it was possible to confirm the historical facts that many Japanese defeated soldiers who were defeated in the Battle of Hachimangu Shrine were tied to the Tang dynasty through the local account, which is a form of war, It is hard to say that this is a teaching-based narrative that reaffirms the legitimate truth that economic and economic losses are large.
