초록

Esther Tusquets, a representative writer of Spain’s transition period, continuously explored the complex affective terrain of this era throughout her works. In particular, she focused on sharp critiques of patriarchal ideology as Franco’s affective legacy while centrally addressing the formation process of female subjectivity during the transition. This study discusses the politics of affect and the formation of alternative subjectivity in Tusquets’ novel Para no volver(1985). First, it will examine the asymmetrical affective dynamics formed in psychoanalytic sessions based on patriarchal authority and the process of reorganizing these affective dynamics. Subsequently, it will analyze the affective alienation of the family—the happy object imposed by the Franco regime—and the patterns of affective alienation of the bourgeois victorious class. Finally, it will examine the process of forming alternative subjectivity by acquiring affective capacity through lateral agency. In these discussions, this study aims to reveal that affect-based micropolitics is a strategic practice that secures spaces of survival through internal micro-adjustments and transformations rather than directly subverting the past legacy of Francoism.
