후설은 자기의식에 대해 수많은 분석을 수행하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그는 자기의식의 현상학을 체계적으로 전개하지 않았으며 그에 대한 저술도 남기지않았다. 이 논문의 목표는 자기의식에 대한 후설의 분석을 토대로 자기의식의 정적현상학과 발생적 현상학 등 두 가지 유형으로 나누어 자기의식의 현상학을 전개하는데 있다. 우리는 우선 I장에서 1) 자아에 대한 의식으로서의 자기의식과 2) 자아를 구성하는 요소들에 대한 의식으로서의 자기의식 등 두 가지 유형의 자기의식이존재한다는 사실을 해명할 것이다. II장에서는 자기의식의 경험과학, 자기의식의 본질적 현상학, 자기의식의 초월론적 현상학 등 자기의식의 현상학의 다양한 차원에대해 살펴볼 것이다. 거기에 이어 III장에서는 자기의식의 정적 현상학과 자기의식의 발생적 현상학의 구별에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 자기의식의 정적 현상학은 초시간적인 타당성 정초의 관점에서 자기의식의 구조를 해명함을 목표로 하며, 자기의식의 발생적 현상학은 시간적인 발생적 정초의 관점에서 자기의식의 구조를 해명함을목표로 한다. IV장에서는 세속적 자기의식에 관한 발생적 현상학과 초월론적 자기의식에 관한 발생적 현상학으로 나누어 자기의식의 발생적 현상학의 몇 가지 주제를 검토하고, V장에서는 자기의식과 관련한 타당성 정초관계의 문제를 중심으로자기의식의 정적 현상학에 대해 살펴볼 것이다. 마지막으로 VI장에서는 데카르트의자기의식이론과 비교하면서 자기의식의 현상학의 의의를 검토할 것이다.
Abstract
Husserl has carried out abundant analyses of self-consciousness. However, his phenomenology of self-consciousness lacks the systematic approach and he has not published even a work on self-consciousness. In this paper, explicating Husserl's analyses of self-consciousness, I will outline the static and the genetic phenomenology of self-consciousness as two types of the phenomenology of self-consciousness. In chapter I, I will show that there are two types of self-consciousness, namely self consciousness as the consciousness of the self (or the I) and the self-consciousness as the consciousness of the various components of the self. In chapter II, I will illustrate that there are various dimensions of the science of the self-consciousness such as the empirical science, the eidetic science, and the transcendental phenomenology of self-consciousness. In chapter III, I will deal with the distinction between the static and the genetic phenomenology of self-consciousness; while the former aims to clarify the structure of self-consciousness from the standpoint of the validity foundation, the latter pursues to elucidate the structure of self-consciousness from the standpoint of the genetic foundation. In chapter IV and V, I will attempt to develop the genetic and the static phenomenology of self-consciousness respectively. In chapter VI, I will highlight the significance of the phenomenology of self-consciousness by comparing it with the Cartesian theory of self-consciousness.
