본 연구의 목적은 코로나19 이후 음악교육 현장에서 발생하고 있는 다양한 상황, 쟁점을 학교교육을 중심으로 살펴보고 이를 교육과정의 측면에서 조명하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 2020년 코로나19로 인한 우리나라 학교음악교육의 현 상황을 살펴보았다. 학교와 교사가 사용하는 온라인 플랫폼과 온라인 음악수업 방식 및 주요 모습, 그 과정에서의 어려움을 논의하였다. 다음으로 팬데믹 시대 음악과 교육과정 실행의 쟁점을 살펴보았다. 첫째, 국내외에서 학교음악교육을 위해 온라인 자료를 어떻게 제공하고 그 차이는 무엇인지 살펴보았다. 둘째, 온라인 자료 과잉이 촉발한 비공식 교사학습 기회의 확대와 이를 의미 있는 학습경험으로 연결하기 위한 교육과정적 방안을 논의하였다. 셋째, 코로나19 이후 포기할 수 밖에 없었던 앙상블 수업활동에서 상호관계성의 중요성과 대안으로서 버추얼 콰이어의 방식과 의미, 한계를 살펴보았다. 이상의 논의를 토대로 팬데믹 시대학교음악교육에서 요구되는 책무성, 학교음악교육과 교사를 지원하는 방안을 교육과정의 주요 질문, 교육과정 결정 요소의 관점에서 제안하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the situations and issues that have occurred in school music education since the outbreak of COVID-19, and to highlight the ways they relate to curriculum. I describe commonly used online platforms used by teachers, examples of online classes, and the challenges in online teaching. Next, I review issues in the implementation of music curriculum in the pandemic era. I discuss opportunities for informal teacher learning triggered by a plethora of online resources, and ways to link them to meaningful learning experiences. I also examine the importance of inter-relationships in in-person ensemble class activities that aren’t possible during quarantine, as well as the meaning and limitations of the Virtual Choir as an alternative. Based on these discussions, I propose a plan that strengthens accountability of school music education and provides support for school teachers to implement their curriculum during the pandemic.
