Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the operation status of online remote classes in middle and high school non-face-to-face music courses and to suggest ways to improve online music classes by investigating the perception of music teachers. The study collected and analyzed the results of an online survey of 37 secondary music teachers who conducted non-face-to-face online distance classes for the first semester of 2020 for 'COVIC 19'. The survey questions consisted of selective and descrip- tive questions, and the results of the survey were analyzed by analyzing the response ratio of each item to the total response result of each question, analyzing the extraction of major elements of the narrative content, and statistics on the narrative content centered on the major factors. As a result of the study, secondary school music teachers had a lot of difficulty in learning the composition and method of teaching using new media while conducting online classes in non-face-to-face music sub- jects, but at the same time, they discovered the possibility of new changes in music subject classes and sought directions for development. To improve online music classes, the Ministry of Education and regional offices of education developed an online music subject class operation manual and sys- tem, prepared a plan for reducing and reorganizing the music subject curriculum and performance evaluation through online classes, and for online music practice activities. Build a music class platform. Music teachers should study online music classes that reflect the characteristics of music subjects and the musical level of students, and develop online music class contents to make efforts to conduct online classes suitable for students. Above all, continuous development of the competence of music teachers is required for the planning and operation of online music classes.
