중국 영화를 연구하고 교육하는 장소에 대하여 ― 국내 대학의 중어중문학과를 중심으로

Abstract

Under the discourse of the crisis of humanities, the Chinese language and literature department in Korea has sought to change itself in various ways for the last few decades. A considerable number of colleges has changed their names of the department, and also reconstructed their curriculum for practical purpose. In this respect, it is one of the these changes that the study and education of Chinese cinema has become an academic subject in the department of Chinese language and literature. Since the early 2000s, there has appeared a variety of studies and courses on Chinese cinema in the scene of Chinese studies. For the existing (modern) literature scholars, cinema has been considered as a new form of literature, or expanded literature. Likewise, for the scholars who study Chinese play and stage drama, cinema is a sort of contemporary performing art. Chinese cinema has been employed for various scholars in various ways. Cinema itself has a strong trait of multi-disciplinary and inter-disciplinary subject rather than an independent and exclusive discipline. An approach to cinema from the perspective of the existing scholarship in Chinese language and literature department make it possible to open a new understanding for cinema, and this new understanding can invigorate the existing discipline of Chinese language and literature department. Through this relationship of dialogue, cinema can be a trans-disciplinary subject to bring the changes to the existing discipline of Chinese language and literature.
