Abstract
Multi-channel shopping behavior has become one of the outstanding cases most concerned by both online and offline retailer. For multi-channel shoppers, they can find more necessary information through different channels to meet the goal of maximizing shopping benefits. However, multi-channel shopping not only brings opportunities to enterprises, but also brings potential crisis. Because consumers' multi-channel shopping behavior intensifies the competition between online and offline channels. Therefore, understanding when consumers choose a single channel and when they choose multi-channel can see the core problem for sellers to survive in the market environment of multi-channel shopping. This study makes an empirical analysis through online survey to understand how the shopping value pursued by consumers affects consumers' channel choice from the perspective of consumers. In addition, this study noticed that the impact of shopping value on consumers' choice of channels will change with product types and consumers' perceived risk of online shopping. By demonstrating how this relationship will change with the perceived risk of online shopping, we can expand the academic nature of the existing research on multi-channel choice behavior and provide practical enlightenment for marketers.
